Bikes like to be looked after. They need to be looked after. Treat them well and they’ll pay you back in spades. Or miles. Or years. Even comfort. Certainly speed.
Just like with a car the trick with bikes is to catch any problem before they happen. There are a lot of moving parts on a bike, and a lot of bad weather and potholes in the UK. Parts wear and corrode, even where you can’t see. Especially where you can’t see. So keep your bike clean, lubed and serviced. And when things do go wrong, and they will, get it worked on by someone who knows what they’re doing and has the proper tools to repair it. And who cares.
Service Pricing
At Spoke, we don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all service plan. That’s why every bike that comes into the workshop for servicing is thoroughly assessed (like your car at it’s MOT), costed, quoted and customer-contacted before any work starts. Our base standard service includes this assessment as well as a 25 point safety check, full bolt check, derailleur and brake setup, wheels trued and tensioned, tyres inflated to manufacturers specification and test ride.
Our Spoke Superior Service includes all the above, in addition to a complete strip-down and clean and return of the bike to as close as showroom condition as possible.

For Kids bikes it’s all about peace of mind, which is why at Spoke our £50 service for the smaller cyclist ensures their gears and brakes work as they should do, their tyres are at the correct pressure and no bolt is left unturned.

Mechanics courses
“Give a someone a fish, and you feed them for a day; teach someone to fish and you feed them for a lifetime.”
Our roadside mechanics course covers all the basics – punctures, broken chains and snapped hangers – so you’ll ride away confident in your ability to get home if disaster strikes.
We run regular courses on a Thursday evening, with two instructors, from 6pm.
You bring your own bike so that if anything does happen while you’re out you’ve already practiced the fix on your equipment. Courses to last 2.5-3 hours but don’t worry, there’s a coffee (or something stronger) break halfway through.
